The Yuan Dynasty fell in the
year 1368, because of the peasants’ rebellion against the dynasty. The peasants
rebelled because Liu Futong despised the Yuan army for destroying the monastery
that he was staying at (he was homeless.) The rebellion was led by a man named
Liu Futong. The rebel group was called “Hongjinjun Uprising.” Brutal battles
took place among the Hongjinjun military and the Yuan army. A general from the
Hongjinjun military named Zhu Yuanzhang won many battles between the two
armies. The peasants won because more people were joining the Hongjinjun
uprising. They were joining them because they Yuan dynasty conquered their lands
and took control of them. As they kept winning their army grew stronger. In
1367, Zhu Yuanzhang established a deadly attack against the Yuan Military which
terminated the Yuan Dynasty. Shortly after, the Ming Dynasty replaced the Yuan
Dynasty. The Yuan Dynasty ruled for about 100 years.
